LABOUR AND MIGRANTS

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) Office for Labour is the official organ of the Catholic Church in India dedicated to the welfare, dignity, and empowerment of workers—especially those navigating the vulnerabilities of the unorganized sector and migrant communities.

The Office fulfills its pastoral and social mandate on the ground through its primary implementing organizations:

*Workers India Federation (WIF):* The core network coordinating and uniting diocesan and regional labour movements across the country. Partnering closely with premier national and regional movements—including the Christian Workers Movement (CWM), Young Christian Workers Movement (YCWM), Apostleship of the Sea (AOS), the National Domestic Workers Movement (NDWM), and the Kerala Labour Movement (KLM)—it builds resilient grassroots forums, advocates for inclusive social protection policies, and strengthens a nationwide web of solidarity for marginalized communities.

*Network of Indian Christian Entrepreneurs (CBCI - NICE):* The dedicated operational arm working as a robust network for entrepreneurs, focusing on their training, professional mentoring, skill development, and business empowerment to foster economic resilience.
