Sub: Sad demise of Most Rev. Simon Kaipuram, Bishop of Balasore.

It is with deep sadness and sorrow we inform you that we have received the news from Most Rev. John Barwa, SVD, Archbishop of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar that our beloved Bishop Simon Kaipuram CM, is no more. He had a massive heart attack and was rushed to Jyoti Hospital.  There he had another attack and he breathed his last at 1.45 a.m., today, 22nd April, 2019. The funeral will take place at Balasore Cathedral on Wednesday, 24th April, 2019 at 3.00 p.m.  


Bishop Simon Kaipuram was born on 9th February, 1954, at Thanneermukkom in Kerala and was ordained priest on 20th December, 1980. He was a Member of the Congregation of the Mission, popularly known as Vincentians. He was appointed as Bishop of Balasore by His Holiness Pope Francis on 9th December, 2013 and was Ordained Bishop on 30th January, 2014.
