Say No To Tobacco

Kurnool (CBCI News) Kurnool Dicoese Social Service Society ( KDSSS) organized a Rally and a Public meeting in connection with the World No Tobacco Day (WNTD).
The rally was flagged off by the District Collector Sri. Ram Shankar Naik, and Dr. Y. Narasinhulu followed by the inauguration of the Exhibition Stall.
Dr. Anand the Regional Director of health explained the present scenario of the use of tobacco products in the district and cautioned the gathering about the need to control tobacco usage. Dr. Anil Kumar gave a power point presentation on "Second hand smoking". Dr. Y. Narasinhulu spoke about the tobacco control act and their implementation in the country. Fr. K. D. Joseph, Director of KDSSS distributed nutritious kit to Smt. Maddamma a Cancer Patient. Ramanjeneyulu who stopped the use of tobacco was honoured before the public. Around 400 people participated in the rally and the meeting in the Sunaiana Auditorium in the Collectorate campus. Participatns included students from various educational institions and social service centre.
